Additional Information on Idaho:

  • Structure of Idaho's system
The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is Idaho's single state agency for alcohol and other drug abuse. The Department's mission is to effectively and economically use state and federal funds to create a comprehensive and integrated system of prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation services.

The goal for the Single State Agency is: "Idaho's youth and their families will have strong anti-use values, beliefs and skills which enable them to lead tobacco, alcohol and drug-free lives."
Target populations for prevention include non-substance using adolescents in rural/frontier communities, families; famillies of persons involved in alcohol-drug use; communities; and public policy/environment.
